Light a Candle
Mr. Billy Lamar Clanton, age 76 of Douglas, GA, passed away late Wednesday night, November 14, 2018, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA following a short illness. Mr. Clanton was born December 1, 1941 to the late Marvin Clanton and the late Willene Whittle Clanton. Mr. Clanton was a native of Lakeland, GA and was residing in Douglas, GA. He retired after a number of years working as a machinist for Dowling Bag. He was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. Survivors Include: 5 Step-Children: Gerald Bradford of Douglas, GA; Junior Bradford of Valdosta, GA; Kaye Bradford of Douglas, GA; Faye Bridges of Douglas, GA; Ronnie Bradford of Naylor, GA 1 Brother: Danny Clanton of Valdosta, GA Step-Grandchildren: Scott Bradford of Douglas, GA; Todd Bradford of Douglas, GA; Terrie Hoofmaster of Valdosta, GA; Shannon Bradford of Valdosta, GA; Melissa Jones of Douglas, GA; Monica Merritt of Douglas, GA; Renea White of Pooler, GA; Danielle Patton of Douglas, GA Several step-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends The graveside service and interment were held Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 2018 at Satilla Memorial Gardens with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Military Rites, including the flag detail and taps, were furnished by personnel from Marine Logistics Base of Albany, GA. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements
